Juror Selection
Jurors are chosen randomly with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation providing the number of names and addresses requested each year by the Clerk of Court. A jury pool is formed each year by questionnaires that are mailed to individuals.
The jury pool is then divided into jury panels and summons are issued for trials. The panel period is 30 consecutive days. The term of jury service for individuals is up to 5 days in a 4-year period unless a jury case goes over that number of days.
Juror Notification Instructions
If you selected to receive text messages or emails on your Juror Qualification Questionnaire, you will receive a notification stating whether the trial is still scheduled for the following day.
If a jury trial is cancelled, a notification will also be sent informing jurors that they do not need to report for duty.
If you did not opt in to receive text or email notifications, you may do so by contacting the Clerk of Court’s Office.
Alternatively, you can call the Clerk of Court’s Office after 4:30 p.m. the evening before the trial is scheduled to begin and listen to the voicemail message to determine whether you are required to report.

If you have a conflict serving any day(s) during this tentative period, you must notify the Clerk in writing immediately. The fastest way is through https://juryrequest.wicourts.gov. Requests to be postponed or excused are based on Vacation Plans, Student Obligations, Medical Reasons and Age.
