Buffalo County Road Construction

BUFFALO COUNTY CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

It will be a very busy year of road construction in Buffalo County, with a total of 9 bridges being replaced, approximately 6 miles of road construction, and 4 State Highway projects.

 

STATE Highway 35/54:   Planned CLOSURE of July 11th through July 25th, 3.8 miles south of the 35/54 Junction into Minnesota.

  • Railroad Crossing reconstruction and maintenance by Canadian National Railroad
  • Pavement tie-ins at the northern limits of the bridge replacement project

NOTE:  County Highway P will be posted as a Class B Highway (see Wisconsin State Statute 348.16 for restrictions) during this closure.

 

STATE Highway 37 North of Mondovi (2 projects):   To remain open during the projects.

Project #1 – In process:

  • Bridge rehabilitation – one (1) lane road during the project, controlled by automatic traffic signals

Projects #2 – Starting July 5th:

  • Milling of current surface and new asphalt pavement.

 

STATE Highway 37 South of State Highway 88:   Starting July 5th - to remain open during the project with human flagging operation.

  • Milling of current surface and new asphalt pavement.
  • Some culvert work with drainage improvements.

 

US Highway 10 West of Mondovi:  Project is in process – to remain open during the project 

  • Full bridge replacement with bypass – reduced speed for entering the bypass.

 

 

 

 

COUNTY Highway O:   Project in process - to remain open during the project.

  • Approx. 2.4 miles, from County Highway OO intersection in Cochrane to Belvidere Ridge Road at the top of the hill.
  • Complete reconstruction, including new culverts (may cause short delays), pulverizing old pavement, adding additional new base rock, and new asphalt pavement.

NOTE:  This project includes new pavement through the railroad crossing on the west side of State Highway 35.  This may cause a short closure.

 

COUNTY Highway OO:   Project in process – remains CLOSED from County Highway O intersection to Prairie Moon Road intersection.

  • Full bridge replacement
  • Complete reconstruction, including new culvert in Village, pulverizing old pavement, adding additional base rock as needed, and new asphalt pavement from curb to curb.

 

COUNTY Highway H South:  Not started - from State Highway 37 intersection to County Highway HH intersection.

  • Complete reconstruction, including new culverts (may cause short delays), pulverizing old pavement, adding additional new base rock, and new asphalt pavement from curb to curb.

 

COUNTY Highway H North:  Not started - from Northern City Limit to Pepin County line.

  • Complete reconstruction, including new culverts (may cause short delays), pulverizing old pavement, adding additional new base rock, and new asphalt pavement.

 

COUNTY Highway E:  Project is in process – remains CLOSED 2.3 miles from County Highway U, and 5.6 miles from State Highway 95. 

  • Full bridge replacement.

 

COUNTY Highway G:  Project is in process – remains CLOSED 2.0 miles from State Highway 95 (West end), and 5.9 miles from State Highway 95 (East end). 

  • Full bridge replacement and realignment.

 

COUNTY Highway D:  Project not started – 960ft west of German Valley Road - Was scheduled for 5-16-22 start, waiting on revised date.

  • Full bridge replacement with bypass – reduced speed for entering the bypass.

 

COUNTY Highway J:  Project not started – 900ft east of County Highway JJ intersection - Not scheduled at this time.

  • Full bridge replacement.

 

COUNTY Highway HH:  Project not started – .56 miles east of Allman Road - Not scheduled at this time.

  • Full bridge replacement.

 

TOWN of Glencoe, Pronschinske Drive:  Project not started – Scheduled for 7-5-22

  • Full bridge replacement with bypass.

 

TOWN of Modena, Hanson Bluff Road:  Project not started – Scheduled for 9-6-22

  • Full bridge replacement.

 

TOWN of Montana, Palkowski Road:  Project not started – Scheduled for 9-7-22

  • Full bridge replacing culverts currently in place.
